From your perspective, what are the three most important priorities that PBSA should pursue during the next two years?

  1. Potential of innovation through PBSA
  2. Data Privacy and Security Standards
  3. Regulatory Clarity and Harmonisation

How do you see your contribution in a position of leadership for realizing these priorities?

My leadership will be characterized by a proactive and collaborative approach, driving engagement across our members and leveraging that engagement to meet the PBSA goal of driving excellence.

What is your long-term vision for PBSA’s impact on the background screening industry?

My long-term vision for PBSA's impact on the background screening industry is multi-faceted, focusing on innovation, standardization, and global influence.

Firstly, I envision PBSA driving technical innovation within the industry. This includes championing the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and security of background checks. By staying ahead of technological trends, PBSA can ensure that its members are equipped with the best tools and practices to meet the evolving needs of employers and regulatory bodies.

Secondly, I see PBSA playing a pivotal role in the standardization of background screening processes globally. By developing and promoting industry-wide best practices and guidelines, PBSA can help create a more consistent and reliable framework for background checks. This will not only improve the quality and reliability of the services provided by its members but also build greater trust among employers, employees, and other stakeholders.

Thirdly, I believe PBSA should continue to expand its global reach and influence. This involves fostering strong international partnerships, advocating for supportive legislation, and raising awareness about the importance of background screening in ensuring safe and secure workplaces. By establishing itself as a global leader, PBSA can help harmonize background screening standards across different regions and markets, facilitating easier cross-border employment and enhancing global workforce mobility.

Additionally, I envision PBSA becoming a central resource for education and professional development in the background screening industry for all regions globally. I believe this is something already in place in the US but would hope that this would expand to be a global offering.
