Provide a short summary of your background, affiliations, and experience as they pertain to the work of PBSA. Please include any leadership positions you have held on councils/committees/groups and the timeframe held.
- Education and Industry Practices Committee
- Government Relations Committee
- Webinar speaker for the Education and Industry Practices Committee as I volunteered
- Juris Doctor Degree and previously held positions as internal counsel
From your perspective, what are the three most important priorities that PBSA should pursue during the next two years?
- Stronger outreach in Canada - focus on development and learning opportunities for Canadian councils to promote membership and the benefits of involvement in PBSA.
- Increased organization and accessibility of PBSA resources - based on the wealth of knowledge available through PBSA, a focus on enhancing and building out the resources available to members benefits the industry as a whole and better educates members.
- Development of accreditations outside of USA and General Accreditation - as ISB has just obtained our General Accreditation, we fully understand the value of having these programs in place and the development of programs outside of North America only strengthens PBSA's importance to the industry.
How do you see your contribution in a position of leadership for realizing these priorities?
In this position, it's clear that my focus would be on enhancing the value of PBSA in Canada and promoting PBSA's importance. My main goal would be to focus on building out Canadian resources, programs, and membership. Provided I have success, my value to PBSA would become more evident and I'd be able to pursue additional opportunities to enhance the outreach of PBSA outside of Canada, which leans more towards the long-term priorities mentioned in the previous question.
What is your long-term vision for PBSA’s impact on the background screening industry?
My long-term vision is to expand the outreach of PBSA, to increase its exposure to compliance and technological advancements that will change the industry (e.g. AI and document automation), and to help guide legislative change in a manner that benefits the industry. My education and career background are diverse and I'm energetic and eager and I'd like to simply contribute to the longevity of PBSA as I've enjoyed every aspect of my involvement so far.
