My role at PBSA:
Currently, I am a volunteer for the PBSA Access Subcommittee. I joined when I reached out to the committee asking for help for a records access issue here in New York. The group was so friendly, I couldn’t get away and officially joined as part of the subcommittee. It’s nice to ‘talk shop’ with other industry professionals during our calls.
Why I wanted to volunteer with PBSA:
I fell into my role of volunteering accidentally. Like many members, I didn’t realize how important the work of the committee was until it was too late, and I needed their help. Now I want to make sure that I can be there for other members if they run into access issues by volunteering my time to keep our industry at the top.
What I do when not at work:
During my free time I love to garden and take care of my house plants. I also love babysitting my two nephews. I’ve also recently been learning how to bake sourdough!
What I'm reading:
A How-To book on embroidery. I’ve got it in my head that I want to embroider things for my wedding which is a huge task I’ve given myself.
Favorite website, podcast, blogs, etc.:
I love reading DIY blogs and watching tutorials on home improvement projects.
On my desk right now (books, personal items, etc.):
A coffee mug and some vintage postcards of Schenectady (the city I live in) on my desk. I have several old postcards of County Courthouses hung up behind my desk and this is a new batch I bought to get framed. There is one with a horse and buggy out front!
