February 2024 Volunteer of the Month
Dorinda Funk
InformData, LLC, Director of Compliance
My role at PBSA:
In 2023, I participated in reviewing, editing, and creating the newest version of the “PBSA Criminal Record Provider Guidelines” and to provide feedback on the “PBSA Researcher Agreement”.
Why I wanted to volunteer with PBSA:
I had been interested in helping to bring the documentation to the current industry standards and to help align with our evolving world of technology and risk mitigation factors. In 2023, I was invited to participate and was happy to be a part of these projects.
What I do when not at work.
I have the joy of living close to D.C. directly on the lovely Shenandoah River where I can garden, hike, and walk in nature.
What I'm reading:
I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to reading more about Lean Six Sigma as well as how to apply Servant Leadership methodology within business and life. I am reading “Leading Wisely in Difficult Times: Three Cases of Faith and Business” by Michael Naughton and David Specht.
Favorite website, podcast, blogs, etc.
I enjoy learning about architecture and the historical home building practices over generations and locations across areas of the U.S. based on cultural settling from other countries. It is interesting to see the differences as you move across this beautiful nation.
On my desk right now (books, personal items, etc.):
My work environment is surrounded with natural light, living plants and the romps of little Pipaluk. She is a mix of Cavalier King Charles and miniature Poodle. She is a 12 lb. bundle of smart, funny, sweet, and love.
