My role at PBSA:

I have recently joined PBSA as the Education Chair for APAC as of October 2023. My role involves managing educational resources for the APAC region and facilitating programs for exchanging ideas on various background screening practices, including compliance, ethics, and industry standards. A great platform for these discussions is our 'Tea & Talk' sessions. Additionally, conduct periodic reviews of educational content under the Global Learning Centre (GLC) in close coordination with member companies' subject matter experts, ensuring it remains current with industry trends and best practices.

 

Why I wanted to volunteer with PBSA:

PBSA provides opportunities for volunteers to take on leadership roles, contribute to committees, and work on initiatives that enhance member benefits. The chance to contribute to an organization that promotes best practices and fosters professional development was compelling. When I got this opportunity to get involved, I was eager to make a positive impact in my own way. I have been able to connect with like-minded professionals and contribute to meaningful projects that benefit our members. Additionally, working with PBSA staff members is particularly exciting; their energy and enthusiasm are infectious, motivating and stimulating me to continually improve and give my best!

 

What I do when not at work:

Although moments ‘not at work’ are few and rare, when I do have them, I relish spending time with family and friends and diving into a good book!

 

What I'm reading:

Last book I read is “Getting Naked" by Patrick Lencioni (a business book that explores how to build trust and deepen client relationships by being transparent and authentic) 

 

Favorite website, podcast, blogs, etc.:

Multiple with topic of interest being client engagement, building strong client relationships, leadership and team building

 

On my desk right now (books, personal items, etc.):

A notebook, pen, to-do list, and a mug filled with green tea!
