U.S. Federal Issues
PBSA’s government relations programs are designed to:
- Advocate for the screening profession.
- Represent the interests and concerns of screeners and those in the screening profession.
- Facilitate broad member participation.
- Provide a strong unified voice for screening through legislative and regulatory representation.
The involvement of members is vital to the success of our efforts. To make a difference, you have to make your voice heard. We encourage all PBSA members to use the information provided on the Legislative Action Center to act at the state level to address issues facing the screening industry. We also encourage participation in PBSA Advocacy Day.
Federal legislation and regulatory action related to the screening profession are closely monitored and discussed with the Government Relations Committee. Together with PBSA's legislative partner and Board of Directors the committee determines where engagement and action is needed on behalf of the PBSA membership. The Government Relations Committee meets on a monthly basis to review current legislation and regulatory activity.
