What happens to my FCRA Basic Certificate now that it’s being replaced with FCRA Core?
Your FCRA Basic Certificate will still be recognized until it expires. When your certificate expires, you will have the option to renew it by purchasing access to the FCRA Core Certificate Renewal or moving on to the FCRA Advanced Certificate.
 

If I have the FCRA Basic certificate, do I need to become certified again as an FCRA Core Certificate holder?
Your FCRA Basic Certificate remains valid until its expiration date. Upon expiration, you can choose to either renew it by acquiring access to the FCRA Core Certificate Renewal or progress to the FCRA Advanced Certificate.
 

What occurs if I had already started pursuing my certificate within the previous system?
Individuals who were already in the process of pursuing their certificates under the previous system were notified via email on June 11, 2024, regarding the transition. They were given the choice to either complete their coursework by June 20 or halt their progress in the old system, awaiting further instructions on transitioning to the new system. PBSA will provide an extended period for completing coursework, and affected individuals will receive further details via email communication.
 

What if I bought access to the old system but haven't started pursuing my certification yet?
Individuals who were enrolled in the previous system but had not yet begun their coursework were notified on June 11, 2024, that they would receive instructions on accessing the course in the new system. Emails will be sent to those affected, containing instructions on how to access the content.
 

Are there any differences between the FCRA Basic and FCRA Core Certificates?
Yes, in addition to the name change and change of system, the program has been updated in its entirety to remain current. The approach, general outline and purpose of the program remain similar to the Basic Certificate program. This review process is common for all published PBSA resources.
 

Is the FCRA Advanced Certificate changing?
The name is not changing. The system has changed and the program has been updated in its entirety to remain current. The approach, general outline, and purpose of the program remain similar to the prior Advanced Certificate program. This review process is common for all published PBSA resources.
 

Can I still access the old system?
If you've started your coursework for a certificate, you should have received instructions for accessing the previous system. Access will remain available until 11:59 PM ET on June 20th. Following June 21st, the system will not be accessible anymore. If you haven't yet begun your coursework in the previous system, please refrain from doing so. You'll receive new login details to start your course in the updated system.
 

Will I get a new badge icon saying FCRA Core to replace my current badge for FCRA Basic?
No, your FCRA Basic Certificate logo remains valid and recognized until its expiration date. Upon expiry you will have the option to renew it by purchasing access to the FCRA Core Certificate Renewal or moving on to the FCRA Advanced Certificate.
 

Can I still use my FCRA Basic badge icon even though the program name has changed?

Can I purchase the FCRA Core Certificate even though my Basic has not expired yet?
Yes, you can purchase the FCRA Core Certificate before your Basic expires if you’d like to access the new program and utilize the new Core logo. It is not required that you do so, however.
 

Do I still need to complete the FCRA Core before moving to the FCRA Advanced Certificate?
Yes, you will need to complete the FCRA Core Certificate before you can achieve the FCRA Advanced Certificate.
 

Do I have to set up a new password and username for the new system?
To access the new system, simply log in using your PBSA username and password. If you haven't registered for a username or password yet, kindly send an email to info@thepbsa.org. You can access the new system through this link:https://www.pathlms.com/pbsa#
