2020 Mid-Year Legislative & Regulatory Conference

2020 Mid-Year Legislative & Regulatory Conference

March 18, 2020

Due to COVID-19 the 2020 PBSA Mid-Year Legislative and Regulatory Conference has been cancelled. I appreciate your support and patience over the last few weeks as we deal with a virus that changes our landscape on a daily basis. We have used this time to monitor the situation and also to evaluate opportunities to mitigate some of the financial loss the association will incur as a result of this cancellation.

Refund/Cancellation Policies. We have modified our cancellation and refund policies for this conference and will be sending out follow-up emails to registered attendees, to sponsors, and to exhibitors with options for how we treat your fees paid. Below is a summary of options available for fees paid. Please wait for the follow-up email from PBSA to let us know which option you would like to select.

  • Conference Registrations: (1) Full Refund, (2) Apply Mid-Year Registration to 2020 Annual Conference Registration, (3) allow PBSA to retain all or a portion of fees paid for Mid-Year to mitigate some of the financial loss.
  • Sponsorships: (1) Full Refund, (2) Apply Mid-Year Registration to 2020 Annual Conference Sponsorship, (3) allow PBSA to retain all or a portion of fees paid for Mid-Year to mitigate some of the financial loss.
  • Exhibits/Booths: (1) Full Refund, (2) allow PBSA to retain all or a portion of fees paid for Mid-Year Conference to mitigate some of the financial loss.

Hotel. Anyone with a hotel reservation will need to contact the hotel to cancel their hotel reservation. Please cancel your hotel reservation as soon as possible.

Educational Content. Over the next several weeks we will be evaluating opportunities to bring you additional educational content and resources that were scheduled to take place at the conference and in relation to COVID-19 as it relates to your business. Please look for more to come.

Next Steps. Look for follow-up emails from PBSA over the next 24 hours with buttons that allow you to select how you would like to proceed with any of your fees paid to date. We again ask for some patience as we answer questions and begin processing refunds. We expect to complete the refund process by the end of May 2020.

Not all trade associations are created equal. This is something I picked up on early in my career as your Executive Director and the reason that I love coming to work every day. We are a family – albeit sometimes a dysfunctional family. When we experience challenging times the PBSA community comes together in support of one another and the profession like no other. We will get through this as an industry, as a trade association, and as colleagues and friends who support one another. And our next conference will be one for the books.

Much Love,
Melissa
